Carla James, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio currently living in Mansfield has worked successfully in the field of education and community service for over 20 years.

She also serves as the chair of Education Committee. Her passion is helping to ensure justice and equity for people whom it often denied. She is a Master level Family Life Educator, works in her community Regional Coordinator for NAMI Parent Advocacy Connection assisting and advocating for families of children with disabilities and other needs.

Carla is the mother of two sons (Rasheed & Naradain), two daughters (Brianne & Rilda) and 5 grandchildren (Rasheed, Amaree, Melodye, and Naradain).
